About: Discogs is a crowd-sourced database of vinyl records where users can track their collections, buy/sell records, and discuss with the community.

Problem: With vinyl having a resurgence in popularity, there is a whole new younger audience Discogs now has to cater to while maintaining their current user's experience.

Solution: Refresh Discogs' branding to something more modern while keeping the nostalgic, retro feeling. Also rehaul the website and add some branded merchandise.

Record Store Day is the "Black Friday" of the record store world. Due to the quarantine in 2020, the whole experience was completely different with some businesses not able to open and experience it.

Discogs sponsored a virtual experience to allow both shops and customers to celebrate, from the comfort of their own homes, keeping everyone safe and allowing small businesses to keep their busiest day of the year.

Individual stores set up performances, interviews, or behind the scenes footage on Instagram Live or other social platforms.

This allowed fans from not only their own community, but all over the world to partake in their Record Store Day events.

A series of hashtags encouraged Instagram users to share their collections, favorite stores, or some of their memories they have of Record Store Days in the past.

This generates a ton of UGC and gets Record Store Day really trending across social platforms. It also helps build up that community of record collectors and even spark the interest of people looking into starting their own record collection.
